Rob Powell. ADHD UK Ambassador
Hi, I’m Rob and I was diagnosed with ADHD at 52. Before that, I spent years dealing with self-doubt, self-reproach, and a series of misdiagnoses without anything changing.
That’s what led me to become an ADHD UK ambassador. So many adults in the UK are affected by ADHD, yet only a relatively small number of those affected know that. I want to be part of changing that-helping raise awareness not just of the challenges, but also of the ways people can better understand and support themselves and each other.
For me, living with undiagnosed ADHD, along with related conditions, meant experiencing significant anxiety and feeling unable to manage it. Everyday life could be a struggle, and many of the traits I now recognise as part of ADHD, I once saw simply as personal failings.
Now that I understand how ADHD affects me, things are gradually improving. That growing sense of clarity and progress is something I’d love others to experience too—whether they’re living with ADHD themselves or supporting someone who is.
