Andy Morrison. ADHD UK Ambassador

Hi! I’m Andy Morrison, I’m a Market Research Specialist for HSB UK&I and I was diagnosed with ADHD combined type in October 2023 aged 34.

After enduring the lengthy process of obtaining a diagnosis, the availability, inconsistency and uncertainty around ADHD medication, the access to work and pip processes, it’s obvious there’s a significant amount of work to be done. I’ve persisted through each process and its end-to-end difficulties and I’m keen to support others through each of them.

My previous work in CX, VoC, Customer Insights and Research for global retailers, insurers and non-profits put me in a strong position to add value to the charity, in addition to sharing first hand lived experiences.

ADHD UK’s five pillars of support, information, research, awareness and advocacy are something I can believe in and an organisation I can get behind. As a father of two under two (at the time of writing this) being part of the conversation, doing what I can to contribute to the community and potentially (whilst selfishly) indirectly helping them in the future definitely feels like the right thing to do.

I regularly raise money for charity, so it makes sense to link physical challenges with fundraising for ADHD UK exacerbating the benefits of getting outdoors either solo or part of a group and taking on challenges, getting out of a comfort zone and raising money at the same time.

When I’m not going over the top, writing far too lengthy about you sections hoping to combat the imposter syndrome/rsd of being involved in an organisation like this, I’m spending time with the family, watching/playing football, running or hiking with various podcasts and either a self-improvement or Andy McNab audiobook.
