A recent article from the Oxford Mail reports that there has been a significant rise in the number of patients in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire receiving ADHD medication. Specifically, the NHS Business Services Authority revealed that 8,226 patients were prescribed ADHD medication in the region, marking a doubling from previous years. This increase has raised concerns regarding the capacity of local services to support these patients effectively.

The rise in prescriptions has been attributed to increased awareness and diagnosis of ADHD, yet it has also highlighted the need for adequate support and funding for ongoing patient care​.
