Laura Passant. ADHD UK Ambassador
Hello, my names Laura and I was diagnosed with combined ADHD at the age of 32.
I always felt I was different and wondered why I could not stick to one thing and always coming up with new activates to keep me occupied usually out the box like unicycling but would get bored very quickly. When I was diagnosed with Combined ADHD I felt a sense of relief but also a sense of sadness because what could my life have been if I had the correct support growing up. Maybe I would not have failed all my GCSEs and had a better focus on my life. I sometimes feel like I am grieving the life I could have had but also feel lucky to have an opportunities now that I am on the correct medication to do things that were out of my reach before.
ADHD has not stopped me achieving but has made everything I do more challenging, I have lots of challenges along the way with friendship, relationships, alcohol, smoking the list goes on but I am determined to live my best life in spite of my challenges and try and use my experiences to try support others who are struggling due to ADHD
I really want to try and support people especially young people who are struggling without a diagnoses and spread positivity around ADHD.
