Mudatheer Mandan. ADHD UK Ambassador

Hi, I’m Mudatheer. I am a current undergraduate psychology student, proud ADHDer and all round lover of triple chocolate cookies (especially the ones from Tesco).

I am currently working on my dissertation proposal on whether ADHD trait similarity influences group task performance in young adults. I’m hoping I can disrupt the schooling system, teachers should fit into children not the other way around!

I was diagnosed with ADHD-C back in November of 2024 after being told by a friend in October of 2023 that I may have ADHD. The diagnosis? It made everything finally make sense. It made me realise why I worked the way I did and that I wasn’t indeed broken in any way shape or form. I learnt a lot about myself these last few years but also a lot about how neurodivergence is currently viewed in the world.

I wish that teachers picked up the ADHD traits in me when I was younger, so that I had the support earlier and didn’t struggle so much. Every school report said the same thing, talkative, fidgety, loud, but none of them ever came to the conclusion that it may be because I had ADHD.

Becoming an ambassador for ADHD UK will give me the platform to help raise awareness not just for ADHD but neurodivergence in general. I want to make sure that other kids don’t get missed like I did, that they are supported early on so that when they get older they can really prosper.

It will also give me the chance to challenge stereotypes, misconceptions about ADHD. I want to disrupt the system, things are working well but not as well as they could be and I’m hoping that I can use this platform to make change in the world as big or as small as possible!
