Emma Thorp. ADHD UK Ambassador

Emma Thorp is an accredited executive coach (ICF and EMCC), facilitator, consultant and founder of Thorp Coaching, working with individuals and organisations across a range of sectors. With a background in senior commercial leadership and executive search, she brings real world business experience alongside professional coaching expertise.

Emma was diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood after a successful but demanding corporate career that ultimately left her physically unwell and burnt out. Like many late diagnosed adults, the diagnosis reframed decades of experience, helping her understand both her strengths and the hidden costs of operating in survival mode as an undiagnosed yet high achieving ADHDer. Since then, she has become passionate about supporting others navigating similar journeys, particularly professionals who may have masked their differences for years without understanding why work and life felt harder than it appeared from the outside.

Through her work she regularly supports neurodivergent leaders and teams, helping them build sustainable ways of working that honour both performance and wellbeing. Her professional training combined with lived experience allows her to bring depth, nuance and honesty to conversations about regulation, burnout, identity and leadership.

Emma is becoming an ADHD UK Ambassador because she believes representation and education matter. She is committed to challenging stereotypes, raising awareness of late diagnosis experiences, and contributing to a more realistic and compassionate understanding of ADHD across workplaces and wider society.

She is particularly interested in the intersection between ADHD, leadership, trauma informed approaches, and how broad systemic forces can either support or undermine neurodivergent people. Emma will actively support ADHD UK’s mission through fundraising initiatives connected to Thorp Coaching, alongside lobbying, advocacy and public speaking engagements.

Alongside her professional work, Emma is deeply connected to nature and delivers much of her coaching outdoors in the Ashdown Forest, exploring how environment and nature can support divergent thinkers.
