Gareth Rees. ADHD UK Ambassador
Hi, I’m Gareth. I was diagnosed with combined type ADHD at 26 years old. After years and years of worrying that I simply wasn’t a very good person, I could finally begin to understand that I wasn’t “less” than anyone else, I was simply “different”.
ADHD UK helped me massively on my journey towards diagnosis in the understanidng of what ADHD is and what ADHD is not and it has contioned to help me navigate my life now that I have a diagnosis. ADHD UK’s work is incredibly important for those with ADHD and I wish to do all I can to help support this cause.
I received my diagnosis whilst in the depths of debilitating burnout as a Food & Beverage Manager in a 5 star hotel. My diagnosis and the work that went into understanding what ADHD meant for me, allowed me to finally be kind to myself and design a system of work that allowed me to thrive again and overcome the burnout that has ruining my life. I now run an organisation called ADHospitalityD which aims to help people with neurodivergent conditions within the hospitality industry to thrive in their roles.
