Steve Johnson is a writer and public speaker living in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Steve is gay, he’s autistic and has ADHD. He writes about these aspects of his life. He is passionate about equality, inclusion, and diversity awareness, and he speaks publicly about these issues. Steve’s book Without Favour or Affection, Malice or Ill-Will was published in 2024, and he is now working on the next book, which will be about autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergent conditions, from the perspective of people with these conditions and how they can overlap. It also covers the reasons why so many more people are being diagnosed and the implications of this.

A background as a police officer, graphic designer, careers advisor, and broadcast journalist within the BBC has given Steve a wide perspective on being neurodivergent in the workplace. Interests include music, art, photography, outdoor pursuits, caving, and mountaineering.
