Laurie Murray. ADHD UK Ambassador
Hi, I’m Laurie. I’m a late-diagnosed AuDHDer, mum of two, and serial hobbyist!
For most of my life I felt like there was something wrong with me or I was broken. Receiving my diagnosis helped me to realise that I wasn’t failing at life or “being an adult”; I was just a different kind of thinker and I needed a different kind of care.
In my professional life, I’m a Registered Nurse specialising in Occupational Health and Neurodevelopment. A big part of what I do involves working with employers and management teams, helping them understand how to support their neurodivergent staff so they can do their best work without the burnout.
My passion is helping people to stop fighting their brain, to build systems that work for them, and – most importantly – replace self-criticism with kindness and radical self-acceptance.
We live in a world that wasn’t necessarily built for us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t thrive in it. I am so incredibly honoured to be an ADHD UK Ambassador and to support this community in finding that same sense of “home” in their own skin that I finally found in mine 💛
