Nathan Pearson. ADHD UK Ambassador

Hi, I’m Nathan. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child, which means that I’ve spent the better part of almost three decades figuring out how to live, work and build things with a brain that wasn’t designed for the modern world.

For a long time, I treated this as something that I had to manage privately. I worked around it, compensated for it at the cost of my own wellbeing. Mentioned it only in private to the people closest to me. It took far longer than it should have done for me to realise that was unsustainable.

That shift in my understanding started me on a journey. I dove into freelancing so that I could manage my own workload. I went into business with my closest friend who also has ADHD. I’ve started working on building tools and resources for others with ADHD who are tired of productivity advice that assumes focusing is a decision you can make, or tools designed for neurotypical working.

I want to change things, and build something that fits the way our minds work, rather than quietly shaming us into thinking we’re just not trying hard enough.

By day, I’m the co-founder of Lumos Digital Marketing Ltd; I have over a decade of experience in SEO, paid media and digital strategy. I’m also a trustee and the digital lead for King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Pride. Using my professional skills in service of communities that mean the most to me is nothing new, it’s my way of helping to make the world a nicer place to be.

I’m becoming an ADHD UK ambassador because the mission is one that I’ve already been living. Norfolk is woefully underserved when it comes to ADHD support, and I want to change that. Through fundraising, local awareness campaigns, and putting my marketing experience to work for something that matters. ADHD UK is doing the kind of work that shouldn’t be required, but sadly is.
