Tim Sedley. ADHD UK Ambassador

Hi, I’m Tim! I was late diagnosed with ADHD, after years of feeling different but never quite understanding why. As awareness of ADHD increased and more people began sharing their stories, I started to recognise myself in what I was hearing, which is what prompted me to get assessed.

Receiving my diagnosis brought a huge sense of relief and validation. It helped me to understand myself better, let go of self-blame and realise that many of the challenges I’d faced were connected to ADHD. Since my diagnosis, I’ve explored a range of support strategies, including medication, which has reinforced my belief that there’s no “one size fits all” approach.

Professionally, I’ve spent many years working in Talent/HR leadership roles. Through both my career and lived experience, I’ve seen how workplaces and wider society can unintentionally create barriers for neurodivergent people.

Alongside the challenges, ADHD has also given me strengths that I really value, including curiosity, empathy and the ability to think differently. I’m currently training as both an ADHD coach and a financial coach, with the aim of helping people better understand themselves and develop strategies that allow them to thrive.

I’m proud to be an ADHD UK Ambassador because I’m passionate about challenging misconceptions and helping create a world where people with ADHD can do more than simply adapt to systems that weren’t designed with them in mind. I believe neurodivergent people should be supported to flourish, not just fit in.

Most importantly, I want people to know that there’s no single ADHD experience. You don’t have to fit a stereotype. It’s never too late to understand yourself, and you’re not alone.
