How NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB compares with other areas

Each dot is one NHS area. Further right means a longer wait at the current pace.

Middle of all areas: 12 years

What does "at the current pace" mean?

We divide the number of people waiting by the number of assessments the service did in the last year. It shows how long someone joining the list today could wait if nothing changes. It is an estimate, not a promise: services can speed up, and some people are seen sooner because of urgency. The NHS standard for non-urgent care is 18 weeks.

What they told us

BNSSG ICB FOI.ICB-2627/053 (response 26 Jun 2026, data as at 23 Jun / Feb 2026): ADULT — 3,993 adults waiting for an ADHD assessment with Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) NHS Trust as at February 2026; a further 1,498 adults waiting with Clinical Partners (Right to Choose) for Q Jan-Mar 2026. The ICB does not hold AWP throughput or figures for other RtC/independent-sector providers; it holds Clinical Partners' assessed count only: 472 adults started an ADHD assessment in 2025/26 (that RtC slice implies ~3.2 years). No whole-ICB effective wait can be derived because the main provider's (AWP) throughput is not held. Adult ADHD RtC providers in scope of 2026-27 Indicative Activity Plans (12): ADHD 360, Atrom Mindcare, CARE ADHD, Clinical Partners, Dr J & Colleagues, Harrow Health CIC, Health Harmonie Minds, Problem Shared, Psicon, Psychiatry UK, RTN Medical, Skylight Psychiatry. The IAP content (Q6) was withheld under s.43(2) commercial sensitivity; ADHD UK requested an internal review on 16 Jul 2026. Pathway: Remedy BNSSG (adult), AWP + Clinical Partners; RtC via primary care.
